Edward J. Kaushas practices in the areas of financial institutions, finance, corporate, estate planning, and real estate law.  He represents financial institutions in regulatory, lending (residential/commercial), bankruptcy, and transactional litigation matters.

Edward has over seven years experience in the Credit Union industry.  He worked with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) as an Examiner for over four years.  He worked on Credit Union examinations ranging from $500,000 to $200,000,000 in assets. 

Upon leaving NCUA, Edward attended law school at Thomas M. Cooley located in Lansing, Michigan. While in law school, Edward worked for Doeren Mayhew CPAs in Troy, Michigan.  This mid-level CPA firm specialized in financial institutions, particularly Credit Unions.  During his stay at the firm, he developed a comprehensive Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program to ensure Credit Unions, Corporate Credit Unions, and CUSO’s complied with the Bank Secrecy Act.  Edward also worked on various CPA-Opinion and Non-Opinion engagements.

After law school Edward continued to work with Doeren Mayhew on a consulting basis.  At the same time, Edward took a job with Carver & Associates, CPA as an Auditor and Regulatory Consultant.  While at Carver & Associates, he created a regulatory compliance program for their Credit Union clients.  He developed AML, ACH (Automatic Clearing House), Commercial Lending, internet banking, and due diligence review programs.

Upon his admission to the Pennsylvania Bar, Edward began a law practice tailored to financial institutions.  His background allowed the firm to offer an assortment of Credit Union services including Strategic Planning, Corporate Governance, Due Diligence, Policy and Procedure reviews, collections, bankruptcy, and litigatory matters.  He also conducts educational and training seminars for his Credit Union clients and Credit Union organizations.
